Low Tire Message
Hi, recently the low tire message popped up on my display. Ive been driving my car pretty lightly since i bought it, only 3k miles. any reason why this message would come up? the tires look fine to me

Take it in? WTF... check your tires! That means 2 minutes of your time with an air pressure gauge and an air pump if you need to add air.

yea... it may look normal, but they are low profile tires...so you wont really notice unless its complete flat. Mine went off once, and I had a nail in it... its was at 21psi. which is really low.

Depends where the nail is. If it isn't in the sidewall and you didn't drive with it low for too long, it can probably be patched. Best to ask at a tire shop.

Take it to the a tire shop you trust or the dealership and they'll let you know.
Get it done as quickly as possible.

Mine went off, and I thought it would be a nail for sure (drove across a no-man's land on the freeway after almost taking a wrong exit). When I checked the pressure it was down to 28 psi, but the rest were at 32(???) I've only had the car for a month...
So I reset to recommended pressures all around and re-initialized the sensors. Not only is the ride improved, but the tires are all holding pressure just fine. Seemed really odd, but still a happy outcome.
I have since inspected the suspect tire and there are no nails, tacks, staples, or other sharp objects in the tire. Weird.

Mine went off for the first time yesterday, so I immediately stopped and checked all four. I never realized that the system didn't tell you which tire was low, so I had to run around the car in the rain, just as I was on my way to work. Not fun.
I was shocked - they were all below 25psi. I'm not sure what the TPMS was set for, but I wouldn't have expected them to drop that low without a warning. I aired them all up, and reset the system. Maybe it will do a better job now.
I've never had a car that monitored tire pressure before, so I thought it was great not having to worry about checking the pressure at every fill up like I used to. I think I'll start doing it now, to "double-check" the TPMS, because I would not have let them get that low if I had been checking it manually.
BTW, what is the threshold for the "Low Tire" warning? Now that I've reset the system, should it do a better job of warning me when pressure is low?

My TPMS goes off when pressure hits 27psi, that was verified by a digital air gage when I had a nail on my tire, I filled it back up several times since I couldn't take the car in. When I dropped the car of for the 10K service the dealer removed nail/patch the tire for me.
