you're not drilling the car.. your drilling a removable cover and its really small.. doesn't matter if its too dark, i did it so many times, i can probably do it blind folded. .haha

o i have a few more questions....

1.) My friend was taking a look at the bulb and he slightly touched the top part of the HID bulb... how can i clean that? (i was thinking alcohol swab).

2.) It says I have to drill a hole on some plastic part to install the HID... Do i have to buy a new one if i want to change back to OEM lights?

Nobody answered my first question.... is the light bulb bad because he slightly touched it? what can i do to clean it?

not sure about hid bulbs but for regular halogen type bulbs they tell you to wipe it with rubbing alcohol and then let it air dry.

If your car has the stock HID headlights than the install will be a simple bulb change.

If you car has halogen headlights and the MTEC kit is a conversion kit than you will have to follow the install instructions. You will have to drill a hole in the dust cover caps to allow the wires to pass through, and than secure the ballasts and ignitors that come with the MTEC kit. The install would also require you removing the stock air box to gain access to the headlight assembly/dust covers on the passengar side. On the drivers side there is more room and you will just need to remove the washer fluid tube.

If you want to return the car to normal after your lease is up you can buy another set of the dust covers, they should be pretty cheap.

hope that helps! Good luck on the install, it's pretty simple if you want to try installing it yourself and there are some good picture guides from members here.

Thx for answer my questions guys. But i just paid the guy flyfl1pguy introduced me to and had it done. He did a really nice job with securing the ballasts and installling the bulbs. I'll post up some pictures of how he did it later. Now I have to wait till tonight to see how it shines (ill post those too).

I got the Mtec 6000k from Ebay on my IS250 2 months ago. I am a beginner and took me about 4 hours to install it. This forum provide a comprehensive DIY instruction. Seach the modification threads and you can easily find it.
