It’s not a main concern for me. Like I said it’s for the small "run to Home Depot" loads. Maybe 100-200 pounds at the most. I'm not going to give up my IS for a truck just to do that. I see in some other posts that you are trying to do a non nav to nav conversion on your IS. You were also looking at getting 19 inch rims. I don't understand, why didn't you just buy one with nav to begin with, or 19 inch rims for that matter? Your car was not designed for nav or 19's so why try to changes things right? Maybe you should just trade your non nav IS in for a nav IS. Who cares if you will loose thousands out of your pocket? Maybe you should just buy a second car with nav and 19's. You see my point is that not everyone can have a vehicle that’s perfect for every need or designed for every purpose. If I can spend a couple hundred on a hitch for small loads then that’s for me. I'm not going to buy another vehicle just for that. It’s not like I'm hauling watermelons across the country or something.

I don't think anyone on this thread is talking about towing as a "main concern". Towing would just be a significant bonus for me. I'm currently having to rely on the help of others with tow vehicles to use my boat.

I think the reason why they do not recommending towing anything is that the suspension is fragile (according to the sales guy). that's why they have tow hooks for your car if you need to have the car towed.

Of course you can tow anything with your car, but that might cause other side effect(s) and when it comes up with warranty repair with your suspension, they might deny it cos you were doing something you were not supposed to do........

The suspension is not "fragile", and information from sales guys should be considered "counter intelligence" at best. The tow hooks are to assist towing without damaging the paint.

Soo...has anyone found a way to tow with the 2IS? I'm buying a Sea-Doo jetski tommorrow, and knowing this information will save my neighbor from buying a double trailer for the both of us...

Unfortunately, no hitch manufacturers have any plans to offer anything for us. I also went to a custom manufacturer, and they said they wouldn't do it either. It looks like the ES is the only Lexus car that seems to be getting any love from the hitch manufacturers...

Totally sucks to have to rely on someone else to go have fun in the water..

Gernby, noone would even try to make a custom hitch?

Nothin can be done with the 2 tow hitch spots in the back bumper? Maybe some kind of a cross bar welded with longer bolts..like a removable tow hitch.

Guess I'll find out what my options really are tommorrow.

I have looked under the car, i dont see where you could mount a tow hitch rated to haul a seadoo. My opinion, is buy a truck. I have the same issues with snowmobiles........ i would never consider towing anything with a (anytype) car, period.

Actually there are two or three bolts on each side right near the mufflers, that's probably where the IS's overseas are using. It's actually a option over there.
