Hello,

I was just curious what exactly is permaplate and what exactly does it do?

Is it like a coat of wax?

I did not purchase this option and ended up saving the money for the 3M invisible bra.

Any good or bad experiences with Permaplate?

it definately impressed me the most on my x5; i've never wax or detailed the car in the past 4 years of ownership, yet its paint still looks new after a simple car wash.

Permaplate is a rip off piece of crap the dealers try to sell. It's like the underbody coating. Sure it does probably offer some protection from UV but nothing a good coat of wax won't do and you're supposed to apply a new coat every year. Save your money and get a clear bra. I asked for a clear bra to be thrown into my deal but they threw in the permaplate crap instead

Permaplate is a scam for people that don't now any better (ignorance or they just really don't know).

Save your money, get yourself a Zaino kit, and dedicate a weekend every few months and I promise you, you're paint will look insanely fantastic.
