Paint grille question

for those who had the grille painted...

how did you take off the grille? did the paintshop uninstall it for you? are the weatherstrips jsut snap on and off?

Does anyone have DIY for blacking out your grill? I see many people with painted grills and emblems. I would also really like to know.
