Does anyone know if the 1G gen short shifter would work on the 2IS? Ihave a spare PLP G2 Short shifter from my IS300 and maybe I should try and see if it would work?
The only thing is that I'm not sure how to remove the console cover - if someone can show me how to remove it then I'll try it out..

its fairly easier than the auto though. it comes apart in 2 halves, from the cupholder back is one and shiftboot is the other. if i recall right...there aren't any screws..you just rip it out. start with the cupholder then the shiftboot.
hope this helps..
let us know how it goes with the install...take pics if you can..hehe i wanna do this too if it works

The photo tutorial starts off with taking out the silver trim by pulling diagonally up/back. Our MT has a shorter trim and the trim actually sits under the cupholder piece.
I tried to remove the cupholder piece like you suggested but without success. If you know how to remove the console for the MT can you do a photo tutorial for my refrerence so that I can try to fit the 1IS PLP GII short shifter?
I have a feeling it won't work, since I'm not sure how an after market short shifter would be compatible with the sliding mechanism that engages our reverse gear... but we'll see...
