Default Help! Bad scratch on my IS250AWD

That is what I did with a normal sponge. Some kind of metalic rustish liquid got spalttered on my fender. When I went to wipe it off, thats what it left when it dried! Is there any way short of a paint job to get this out???

Looks nasty. Curious, did you try hosing the stuff off lightly before attacking it with a sponge?

Hoochie Mama that looks bad. If it were me, I would take it to a professional detailer. I would want someone who has dealt with a wide range of paint damage to try and find a remedy for the situation. Chances are that you will just make it worse if you try to work on it yourself unless you are very familiar with compounds and polishes and the machinery necessary for that job!

dang thats bad man...looks like the 'metalic rustish liquid' you had on the fender ate away at your wax and oxidation has formed. How long was it there before you wiped it off? You should have washed your fender with car wash shampoo to completey remove the acid (or what ever it was) before it could settle & do damage.

Take it to a professional detailer asap. All it needs is a good polish, rubbing compound and your paint should be as good as new.

Good luck man.

I did hit it with the hose first. Then I just used the sponge without any soap or anything... just to see what happened when I wiped. Needless to say the crap did come off, and so did the clear coat

Thanks for the advice. I just hope it doesnt run over 250 bucks....
