I love this VDIM

Since I've got the car, it has been kicking in less and less often; which means I'm getting better at driving it near the limits without getting in trouble.
I also disable VDIM on my morning commute whenever the weather is good, and have some FUN!

If you really did pull over 1.0 g on your celica, your suspension was not stock it was highly modified, and I do agree, the IS could do with a stiffer suspension, but that's why there are a/market providers, coilovers anyone?

when all it took was pushing a button and seeing VDC OFF in order to do doughnuts till there were no tires left, that's enough for me to consider it off all the way.

The audible beep is not VDIM, thats VSC kicking in.
As far as the light blinking on the dash, thats (TRAC) retarding power to your motor and kicking in the ABS to modulate your wheelspin.
VDIM kicks in if you're going a decent rate of speed trying to induce a drift position. You really have to be doing something wrong for VDIM to be in full swing. It's amazing how much people have these terms so confused.
