Glad to hear it worked out. There's a good chance you will get an 07. Good luck!

Now if I could find something wrong with my car...

Nothing yet...

That's awesome, you lucked out, I'll tell you one thing a alot
of other dealerships would of just repaired it instead.. If they
don't offer you an 07, try to offer them a bit more money to get one!

It isn't the dealership who is giving him the new car, it's Lexus Corporate... The factory rep is the one who made that decision... The dealer has nothing to do with it as far as I know...

They sure did what was right. That looked like it would be a major problem down the road - possibly even clearcoat delamination.

That part will most likely end up back at a factory and then the paint chemists bench.

Hope you get a nice one this go around.

Does anyone know if the Black Sapphire Pearl is similar to the Blue Onyx?

If you like black, get the Black Sapphire Pearl as in any light other than direct sunlight it looks black. Go to the Lexus dealer and compare the 2007 IS Black Sapphire paint chip with that of the 2007 ES350 Blue Onyx....big difference, Blue Onyx is much bluer, (if that is a word). Hope this helps.

i had the same thing happen to my truck years ago, apparently there was something that was on the metal that "came up" through the paint, it looked pretty much the same and they ruled it a factory issue and was covered under warranty, the did the same and bought back the car.......

When i took delivery of my car there was a scratch on the rear fender, I told the salesman about it. He said if they had another car, they would have just gave me a new one. At the time there were no other 6spd manuals in NJ so they just wet sanded and looked liked it was never there.
