I got my new car last week and during this week I noticed an extra amount of dust in the car. I usually drive with the windows open so I thought stuff got inside the car when I drove by some trees. I was vacuuming just now and realized that a lot of the dust was coming FROM the glove box. I opened it up and saw tons of little dust cotton things. I then vacuumed in the hole in the back and this stuff started coming out like mad. What is this stuff? Should there be something blocking this hole or do I just have lots of dust stuck back there? Thanks a bunch! Here are pics:

That's where your air conditioning air filter is. Although, mine does not have stuff coming out of it like your pictures show.

Did your AC suck a small bird into the filter? That is highly unlikely...

If that is where the filter is located, then I am assuming the stuff coming out is part of the filter. Is there supposed to be a piece blocking this hole?

I am hesitant to vacuum the stuff up if its my air filter.

Yeah, I cleaned it up and looks like its gone, but will add it to the growing list of things the dealer needs to fix

take it in to the dealer, it's prob some insulation or sound proofing material.

I took my car in for service, a long time ago, because the A/C stopped blowing. It turns out that my extended warranty fell in front of the filter, and blocked it.

As soon as they removed it, everything was cold again!

gonna check to see if my glove box has an opening like that

Well, you did take a vacuum to it. So maybe you pulled some of the filter out.

Well looks like I am going to the dealer. After my clean up the junk as returned. I think I have narrowed down the problem. When I have my windows down with A/C off and I am traveling fast it seems that the dust cotton stuff comes out of the glove box and bellow the glove box. I am assuming this has to do with air traveling through the A/C system which is pushing this stuff out. I am hoping this isn't something thats growing inside my car
