so what happens with a special order?
Hey, I special ordered my replacement for my 06 IS350 15 days ago.... ITS NOT HERE.... WHERE IS IT?
But anyway, I know it takes about 3-4 months. I was wonder what experiences have others had with their 06 special orders? Any calls or status updates? How long did it take... etc
EXCLUDING.. those who ordered an 06 and got an 07, as I know they probably waited a lot longer than average.

I've heard it takes almost 4 months exactly. As far as being "updated", many people have simply been called after 4 months when the car is 1 day away from the dealership, with no updates in between.
Either way, I wouldn't expect it any earlier than 3.5 months, but closer to 4 months is more realistic.
Man, I am at 2 weeks of waiting myself... TORTURE!!! We'll have to do a dual photo-shoot of our new cars when they arrive though... Imagine the bliss of two special order, factory fresh IS350's side by side

Yeah, that would be cool. We can also invite the guy who bought my GFM/ Sterling 350... and my cousin who has his Black/black 250
I sold my IS350 because I wanted to get the navigation and Mark Levinson Stereo. And my GF griped constantly about my cars color.
My new car is Starfire Pearl, with Sterling interior, 18" wheels, HIDs and Nav/ML.

I called often so I can't really blame the dealership for not initiating contact on the status, but the dealer will not know the status until probably about two weeks before it arrives. They screwed me over and forgot to put PCS on the order so that was nice of them. Got it for invoice though

If you Special Ordered it, the wait is typically 4 months. Most people have posted such waiting times before.
However, if your dealership knows what they are doing, they may find the car in an allocation soon. If they reserve that car, you may be able to get it much sooner.
Good luck and I hope your IS arrives much sooner than expected!

It all depends on your region and what they allocate to their area. Here in the Western Region, because Sport & ML/NAV has been popular, there have been many more IS350s that have shipped to dealers in that configuration than when it first came out last year.
