I just got off the phone with Lexus customer service about the front pad shift and they said at this time there is no service bulletin on them but she encouraged me to tell anyone who is having this problen to call them and let them know and maybe something will be done. The noise im talking about is the popping or clanging when going from reverse to forward and touching the brake or vice versa. The number is 1-800-255-3987 and then push 3.

I know you're all having fits about this, but it really is a simple fix. The shims just aren't greased properly (or at all). So the pads stick, hence the clunk. It doesn't hurt anything, but I could fix it in about an hours time.

This problem is really starting to irritate me. The car only started doing this at 7000 miles, but the dealer tells me its normal
. If the fix is so simple, why doesn't the dealer just grease the tracks? I have called customer service and not surprisingly, they state they have never heard of the problem and it is probably a normal characteristic. Go figure, just another example of Lexus quality and customer service going down the drain. I truly hope JD Powers sends me some surveys.
