I read that the IS has LED tail lights. But when I've seen the car at night, I don't remember the LEDs looking like the tail lights on the Infiniti M/G or Jaguar XJ. Those LEDs are very easy to spot when it's dark out. Is there a difference here or am I just not looking hard enough at the IS lights?

they are LED tail lights indeed... however, it is a Lexus, not an Infiniti or Jaguar... so I'm guessing they didnt want the tail lights to resemble anyone elses... to avoid confusion. lol. but yea, they are LED... and they have grown on my quite a bit.

Subtle is a key word for Lexus' designs.
Lexus does not make technology overpower the car's appearance. It accentuates it. Notice that Lexus has never put hood scoops or pedestal spoilers or gigantic brakes on their cars. In fact, they've only started addressing the technology issue with the LED headlight design of the new LS...
There is a simplicity with their design. If they make the LEDs stand out, they'll just be labeled as "copying" the G35 or even Honda Civics.
