New York here...that says it all.
I purchased a complete second set of OEM rims and winter tires. Is it necessary to put the TPSM's on? I purchased a set at a reasonable price (compared to what my Lexus dealer wanted - $150 EACH!).
I'm asking because, on top of that, Lexus wants $469 just to put the rubber on the rims and install the sensors.
If I eliminate the sensors and just have Toyota put the tires on, will the TPMS system stay lit and bug me for 5 months?
Did anyone go through this last season?
Thanks for ANY recommendations.

My local Lexus dealer wanted all four sensors for like $240 CDN.
I am going to buy snow tires and steelies later and I'm not even going to bother with the sensors, because it doesn't bug me that much. But if you are **** like a lot of people I know, then most definitely do it.

I wouldn't say it's "ghetto" but a dash without that light on would look better than one with it. It's like climbing into someone's car who has the Check Engine light on. Drives me crazy.
But, I live in NW Ohio and generally our winters are only bad about 3 months out of the year at most, so if it came down to putting up with the light for 3 months or spending the OP's almost 500 bucks on top of wheel and tire purchase, I think I may be tempted to just drive with the light on.

Yeah...he totally missed the point - "Getto"...
What I was getting at was: will the light just stay off because there would be no sensors at all? The manual indicates it would stay on for a few minutes. I don't want any lights on in my car either - that was the point -"KenSteele" "+movies."
Nothing "ghetto" or "rice" about this IS350. Just an authentic question posed here. That's all.
