Default What tint should I go?

Yo

I am curious on what tint I should go with on my Lexus IS250 Black/black when it arrives for pick up at my dealership.

I live in Cali so the tint laws are kind of lame and on top of it the town I live in has a bunch of bored cops itching to give out any kind of ticket they possibly can.

Overall, I can get around that by just rolling down my driver and passenger side windows etc... depending on how dark I go.

At last I am thinking either (35%) (45%) (55%) all around and then depending on that I would get the windshield tinted also according to what percentage I get for all around the car.

Anyways it'd be nice to get some ideas on how dark I should go, and if I should just go all out and take the risks.

If it helps quite a few people have 15% - 35% tinted windows and they seem to get away with it.

Hit me up
Thanks

Tinting the windshield? That's kinda dangerous man.

with a blk/blk car i'd go with at least 35%. i have a blk/blk IS250awd, and just got my tints done. i was thinking about getting 'em 35%, but didn't think the 35% was dark enough so ended up going with 20% and i couldn't be happier! it matches the paint well IMO

With black 35% would be good enough to notice it and not get too much attention. Tinting lighter then 35% to me isn't worth it.

I would not tint the windshield though if you're looking to avoid cops. You can't roll down your windshield if they pull you over.

Hello, Just got my 07 IS350 black/black and was thinking about getting in tinted. Just wondering if anyone knew a good reliable place in the LA area to get it done. Preferably near the west side.

I got my blk/blk IS350 tinted at Song's Tint. I didn't want to get hassled by the cops, so I went with ceramic Huper Optik 40 (edited from 35... my mistake) all around. It's dark enough with the black interior, but not so dark that you can't see in. Also, I think the reflection goes great with the rims. I also did ceramic tint on the front windshield, 60%. There's no way you can tell that the front is tinted and it keeps the interior dramatically cooler.

Ask for Hann:

I have a blk/blk and I went with 5%. If you can get away with it, that's the best. My friend has a blk/blk as well with 20% and when we did a side by side comparison, the 5% just blends in much better. I'm in AZ. There are tint laws, but they're not as strict as Cali's. To date, I have not been bothered by cops. When I initially had it done, I would roll down the windows every time I would see the cops, but now I don't and I have yet to get a ticket *knock on wood*.

I'd say it all depends on if you always want to drive knowing your tint is illegal and have to roll down your windows or if you want to not have to worry as much. Anything below 35% is pretty blatant and will most likely get you pulled over quicker(unless you always drive with the windows down). 35% and higher is pretty much a safe zone unless you get a tough cop on a bad day.
I always drive subconscienously watching out for cops so I tend to put darker tint on my cars and roll them down whenever I see a cop, but sometimes they come out of nowhere, especially at intersections, and there isn't much you can do.
I'm not a fan of the blend technique on a lot of cars. Coupes can usually pull it off but not sedans.

Thanks for the feedback. So now it's whether or not I wanna go for 15% or 35%

I am a subconscious driver constantly looking out for cops so if I already have that trait may as well go for the 15% tint.

Then again there are those times when I forget etc... which enables the 35% to come into play.

I just gotta do a little more "picture" studying haha...

I would have done 20% all around... front still seems light. Also I wouldn't mind doing the front windshield to 60%.

At least 35%. i went with 20% on my last car (black) and loved it. I also like the dark tint as much for keeping the sun out of my eyes as i do 'the look'

How much did this cost ? I know Ceramic runs more than metal or dye . . .

I ended up getting 50% all around. I'm not a big fan on tinting, but with black int, it was getting way too hot. Didn't want to get sweated by cops, so i kept it light to keep it as stock looking at possible.
