Default Steering Wheel Scratches/Nicks

I am wondering if I am the only one with too soft of a leather on my steering wheel. I took the car in for service after a couple of hundred miles to have the steering wheel straightened. After picking it up there was a 1 inch scratch at the top, most likely from a tool they used to straighten the wheel. They have since fixed that scratch, stating it was client goodwill on the bill. A leather company had to come out to fix it.

Now after 3,000 miles I have three deep nicks in the leather. One I don't know how it happened, and two from my wife's wedding ring. Any ideas how to fix these without a leather expert?
