Most people have no clue about cars. They're lucky to even figure out the brand, much less the model. If you're happy with your car, what does it matter what someone else thinks?
Very true. I do think the tc does resemble the 2IS in side profile but thats it.
Almost all my family that saw my new car, said that it looked like a bigger version of the SCION.... WOW amazing huh. To me the scion looks like a knoc off of a bwm in the front. And of course our isX50 has BWM type fenders.
Now that I have my rims on the car people tell me it looks like a BMW, because of the deep dish.
its the high arching b pillars...and semi bulbous shape that cue you into thinking it's an IS. Other than that the hoodline of the IS bulges outwards (soo sexxy) it just screams, "Yes I do have 300+ horsepower." Where as the scion's front end screams, "Yeah I can get you from point a to point b... with 38mpg to spare!" Bottom line, the overall shapes are somewhat similar.
No it won't. The mileage on the tC isn't a lot better than the IS350. I have 44.5k on my tC, and I've driven it from California to Atlanta and back straight through. Under the very best conditions I got 32 mpg. Typical is 28.x, not a lot better than my IS. The 87 octane does take a little of the sting out though.
And yes, I see the cars side by side daily. At 20' and 20 mph, you could easily mistake an IS for a tC and vice versa. Also, the tC came out in '04, the IS in '06, and they were penned by the same designer according to my sources. Family resemblance? For sure. But the IS is NOT based on the Avensis platform as the tC is, so no way do they share any design feature other than a family resemblance.
