Thumbs down Rant: 5k complimentary Service...terrible service Ray Catena Larchmont

I got my complimentary 5K mile service done at Ray Catena Lexus in Larchmont NY. First off, my service guy didn't even introduce himself, just handed me papers after he told me to roll the car in. Told me to wait hour and half inside the store. After an hour or so, someone calls me to sign the receipt and pick up my car out front. The key wasn't even in there, I had to find the guy who had it walking around the store. Never saw the service specialist again, didn't tell me what I had done, even forgot to tell me about the LPS. I expected a little bit of attention from Lexus, I felt like I was just being moved along in some drive thru.

I guess it's the same as if you had really good food at a restaurant, but the waiter didn't really care about you, I would not have left a tip.

Lexus Personalization Settings

When you get the follow-up phone call, you can tell the person what you think and let them know when you get the survey, you intend to say the same. You will get action.

Sorry to hear that. My 5,000 at Ray Catena in Oakhurst was a pleasure. Pulled car in, service advisor met me as I exited the car and took me back to his desk. We went over what needed to be done: 5000 mile service, seat belt recall and LPS settings. Then he handed me the keys to an RX330 loaner parked out front. When I came to pick the car up, a nice young woman went over the paperwork with me while they pulled my car around front. Hopped in the car, and noticed that my fuel gauge, formerly on "E", now read "F". Couldn't have been happier.

Probably not. Dealers fill up 87 on ALL new cars.

I went in the back of a Lexus Dealership to fill up an RX330. There was a huge tank and it was only 87.

Dealers are out to make a profit they arent going to pay the premium for 92octane gas since running 87 on one tank wont do any harm to the car.

I'm not surprised...

Yet another reason I don't want anything from the dealer, not even "free" gas...

That's a pretty blanket statement. I know dealerships probably have an 87 tank on the lot, but when I purchased my S2000 for example, while I was signing the paperwork instead of filling up at their on-site tank, they drove it across the street and filled it up wih 93 from BP, because the car needed 91 or higher.

I'm not saying some don't do it, but don't put EVERY dealership into your statement.

Who cares that the guy didn't introduce himself, maybe you like to know your waiters name too? "Hi, my name is XXXX, I'll be servicing you today!" You should be VERY satisfied you got out in an hour and they didn't f*** up your car. My 5K took over 2 hours, and that was AFTER all the introductions.

You are lucky they did not screw up your car or that you had to wait very long. Thats good service in my book.

i agree with that statement above, i think some people want there butts wiped when the go to the dealer, i see it all the time. They may as well pay some guy in the bathroom to hand out towels.........
