Default Should I be upset over this?

The continuing saga with my leaking moonroof continues (2 weeks old and the roof leaks)...

Ok, my dealer scheduled an appointment for me to bring in my car to install the new seales. I come in at the time they specified, they leave me sitting in the waiting room for almost 2 hours, then come out and say "Oh, sorry but we're not going to be able to get to you today. Could you bring the car back next Wednesday at the same time?" WTF? OK, one more week with a leaking, whistling roof... no problem, hope it doesn't rain. Where's the great Lexus service I keep hearing about???

On top of that, I ask them NOT to wash the car, had them write it on the workorder, told the receptionist AND my service specialist. I didn't want the wash because they streaked and water stained the hell out of it the last time BESIDES getting whatever the hell it was they use to wash the car stuck in every seam (took a pair of tweezers and a week to get it all out). OH, and don't get me started on the nice big scratch that they "installed" in the trunk.

So of course they washed it again... will similar results, grrrrrrr!

OK, I'm trying not to be an **** about this but I'm really starting to feel like I'm getting the run around here. They agree that the roof is defective but don't seem that interested in doing anything about it. I'm considering contacting Lexus Corporate.

QUESTION: What would you do if this happened to you?

I'd bring it to a different dealer, and never go back to the first one, either for sales or for service.

I'd also mention the name of the dealer here, so that others can benefit from your experience.

I would go to another dealer to fix the problem and report your experience with the Lexus Corporate. Hopefully youll get your car fixed soon with no problems, good luck.

Damn, another spectacular lexus service thread. I'm really considering never bringing my car in unless something major breaks on it...

Sorry that happened to you I agree with the above and also want to add that you should write a review about the dealer at a dealer ratings site on the web to warn others.

I had some issues with my brand new vehicle as well, and the service manager and my sales rep were not enthusiastic enough or just giving me the run around, and not willing to do anything. I sent an e-mail to the president on the dealership, and I opened a file with LEXUS corporate. Before you can snap your fingers the service manager was calling me, doing all in his power to rectify my concerns. Also organize a loaner, instead of waiting. You shouldn't have to go to another dealer cause the one you bought it at wont help, dont stress yourself out make the appropriate calls and handle it.

1. I would start off with researching the lemon law, and see if it applies and Contact the Better Business Bureau, BBB.org

2 I would look for some sort of high up management within Lexus, something like the Office of the President, don;t tinker with these idiots, get as high up in the company as you can, since the high ups get the bonuses they are more apt to care about the customer.

3. Never accept delivery if they damged your vehicle, ( I had mine for a week, and took it in for windo tint, thety scratched it, and put me in a loaner immediately for a week, they took care of me(lexus of orlando)

Document, document document!!

Good luck!

How come most of the people that post threads don't take care of the problem at the time of incident? I wouldn't have wasted anytime to get down to the bottom of it. If a dealership (ANY) was to say ok come in at this time to get my car worked on and they couldn't attend to it, trust me, everyone would know who I was that day. It might sound i'm gonna act ignorant, but it's taking your time away from doing something productive. To sit around 2 hours to wait for nothing, when you as the consumer not only spend over 35K, but also along with it took their name Lexus and thought excellent customer service. I own an Acura and I remember the time I had a problem with the window making noises and they scheduled a date for me to come in and the day I arrive, I was waiting around like you were and their gonna tell me they don't have what they need to fix the problem. uhhh? Hello? Well long story short I climbed up the ladder to get to the big dog and got a couple things thrown in. I always felt the best way to get things done is when it happens. That way they know you mean business.

How could you even consider that? You should have already done it.

Great, so instead of having careless people, you'll have careless people who were just told that YOU complained to corporate about them. Nothing like having a pissed-off careless person working on your brand new car.

Why try to get a bad dealership to do good work when you could just bring your car to a good dealership? Especially if he's near a big city like Houston with three Lexus dealers.

To each his own, pissed off workers or no pissed off workers, they have to perform according to the standards of there corporate guidlines. So let them do some crappy work on my vehicle, Im not gonna go out of my way, I'm going right back to where I bought it. I didn't dump xxx amount of dollars into a Ford or a KIA, I bought a LEXUS " the pursuit of perfection" that includes service. The car is 2 weeks old, and your saying to go to some other dealer cause your afraid of pissing of the employees!!? You have rights, and LEXUS corp. is there to inforce them.

Actually that was never the slogan. "The Relentless Pursuit of Perfection" was the luxury automaker's primary tag line. In 2000, that changed to "The Passionate Pursuit of Perfection." Two weeks ago, Toyota registered "The Passionate Pursuit of Potential" and "The Pursuit of Potential." So basically "perfection" is no longer part of their mantra.
