what's a smog sensor?

 

The 250 has an AC filter, it does not have the interior air filter...

 

i think he means the button on the 350 actually has 3 settings (recirculate, auto, and fresh) where the 250 only has 2 settings (recirculate and fresh).

 

IS250 also has 3 settings since we don't have Nav in our IS model in HK and MO we have one buttom for all 3 settings just pass until you get the function you want...

When bad outside air (e.g. diesel exhaust) is detected, the climate control automatically switches to recirculate mode.

(mod idea: hook it up backwards so that when a passenger releases a squeeker, the climate control automatically switches to fresh air, and if really strong, opens the windows. )

that's an air filter button? I thought it was more like radiant heat/cooling. i.e. let the interior heat/cool without the air blowing at your face.

 

Boy, you guys sure do come up with some odd theories. I have an '07 IS250. It has the smog sensor. It has power tilt/telescope. It has everything that an IS350 has, except a bigger engine.

 

Similarly equipped 250's and 350's are identical in every way except for:
1. Engine
2. Brakes

This means, other than engine or brakes, if it's available or standard on the 350 it's also available or standard on the 250.

For example: The power tilt and telescopic steering wheel is part of the Luxury or sport package. It doesnt matter if it's a 250 or a 350 because the package is available on both cars. All factory options are available on both cars.

 

IS350 smells better.

 

The A/C filter IS the interior air filter. ALL IS's have them as standard equipment.

Nope, IS250 has direct injection, not port injection. IS350, as you said, has both.

 

the 350 has ventilated REAR discs! didn't list that anywhere on the website, only when i went in to buy my 250 did i discover that the 250 didn't.

on non-nav 250, the manual says that the "filter" button, when pushed, will recirculate and remove pollen from the air in the cabin....

i don't know how they figure smog = pollen, i guess the marketing dept. massages this aspect up a bit. smog is detected (on 350), recirculate air, remove pollen (technically). i didn't know cars emit pollen!?
