How much for your Supra?

but it will have to do for now until the LFA is produced. The best we have at the moment is the GS450h at 5.2. The LS460 at 5.4. The 600hl at 4.9 and then the GS460 at ? The ISF will take the crown until we see Toyota podium in F1 then watch for the halo you are talking about. You have to walk before you run...The ISF is sure going to take some steam out of the new M3 which they had to bump up to a V8 because of the IS350 nipping at its heels. The ISF has the interest now so it will delay the I series coupe/conv for a while. An 8 speed tranny was a pipedream in the sixties when I grew up and now it's happening for real...

Gents, when will this obsession with HP ever end? Let me just say if the HP stats get to 400 HP, we are talking about a seriously expensive "little" Lexus. For the 1% to 5% of the car buying public who absolutely has to have this halo car, I salute you! Honestly, I think this car will be too expensive for what you get. This car will only appeal to the hard core CL member or the small amount of fence sitters who like fast Japanese cars. I do not think this car will appeal to the Euro car crowd. At this level of price and performance, you probably will not get gents who will cross shop this car with Mercedes AMG, BMW M and Audi S. IMHO
So Rock, my next question is how much coinage are we talking about in order to have ownage. We are talking in the neighborhood of $49,000 to $59,000 or some thing like $59,000 to $69,000. I’m just shooting off numbers and have no idea on how pricing work so please don’t flame me for those numbers.

Lexus Test Driver
I don't know much about the ISF....
because I was not at the Chicago meeting so everything is second hand. I have enough information to understand where Lexus is headed with this model. When the GS400 came out it started an interest in Lexus as something besides a comfortable luxury car. It began with those flaming ads saying "Something wicked this way comes". There has been an interest especially in these forums to see Lexus position itself with a counterpart to AMG, M, and the S series Audi. The typical Lexus customer does not care about torque and suspension setups. Lexus may never be the brand of choice of the gearhead. The ISF shows that they are willing to commit development to a performance brand within the Lexus brand. This is the big news. The details of the car are the icing on the cake.

So a 415 HP car that weighs 3600-3700 lbs (maybe more?), with a slush-o-matic transmission, is going to turn 0-60 times up there with the Enzo and 911 GT3?? Ha!!! Please, stop...you're killing me

But that's not the point I should be making, I talked to a few other members on the definition of a 'halo' car and we all differed. They clarified it for me that this IS-F would be a temporary halo car until a real suitable alternative was available.
The Mercedes S600 has a 5sp slush box, and 500hp and it runs low 11sec 1/4mi.

"LEXUS FAN!" said that it'll have 415 HP. The current 350 weighs in at 3527 lbs (without any options), so add in the additional weight of the V8, plus the fancy 14-speed transmission, a bunch of techno-gadgets, bigger wheels and tires, and you're looking at a significant weight increase. It wouldn't surprise me to see it tip the scales at well over 3600 lbs (ouch...).
Depending on who's testing it, but I have a feeling that you're close. I would think fairly close to 4.9-5.0
