Default Remote-Activated Headlights

Does anyone know if it is possible to link the headlights with the Unlock button on the remote? I come from an Acura TL which, if the headlights are left on when locking the car, when you hit Unlock on the remote the headlights will automatically turn on for a period of time. This is a very useful feature when you're approaching your car from a distance in the dark.

Thats an interesting question... I would like to know as well. But I assume that is what the puddle lamps are for... when you are approaching the car.

If you leave the headlights in the ON position, the car will do the same thing. The lights will auto turn off after you lock the doors as a battery save feature, but when you press the UNLOCK button, the lights will turn back on.

I wouldnt use this feature all the time though, only when you know you need to use it. Dont trust the battery save feature 100%. Some people have problems with their battery dieing.

I'd like to know as well, I have an Accord and it does the same thing. Sometimes if I know I will be coming out late at night in a dark place I will leave the lights on knowing they will turn on as soon as I unlock the car.

oh boy, here we go again. a thread full of non-factual information, a lot of speculation, my car does this and my car doesn't do that, i didn't understand the question....

i had an acura cl-s. for years. so i know exactly what the question is. i've had the is350 for a year now. my is350 doesn't do it. never has.

inecstaz, educate us. *****sentence deleted to be added back later******

Ok... so here's what I've done.

1) Left the light switch in the ON position
2) Exited the car, locked the doors
*The lights stayed on, I just left and walked away
3)After some time, the lights turned off auto to save battery
4) Upon returning to the car, the lights are off
5) I press the unlock button, the lights immediately turn back on

Thats how it is on my car.

I did say though, that I don't do it often because I'm not sure how reliable the fail safe battery save thing really is.... but it works for me so far every time i do it.

hmmm maybe my car is just weird. hahah. but i just did it last nite and it worked for me... the lights stayed on for a bit though.... and you can't press the lock button TWICE... or the lights will TURN OFF and when you press unlock they will NOT TURN BACK ON. you have to let the car turn it off itself. I think thats the point people are missing.... not sure though.
