My car has this noise now. But it falls out of range with the VIN the last 3 digits are about 400 cars out of the last VIN # in the TSB. Do you think the dealer with even bat an eye? This is a VERY SERIOUS matter I would think.

seems to happen on a regular basis when I'm parked on an incline... after engine has been turned off for about 30 mins and then turned back on again....
almost never happens when car's been sitting on a flat surface for more then an hour...
anyway, i plan to take it in next week
it also has a 100% chance of happening when my girlfriend is in the car

I started having this problem about six months ago. The noise gets progressively worse and this morning it sounded as if soup cans were grinding in a garbage disposal under my hood.
Took it to Park Place Lexus Plano, parts on order. We'll see how it goes next week after the repair.

there is a tsib from Lexus regarding your cam gears. It affects the 250 & 350. It also affects the GS350. I've seen the engine during the repair and I think I will live with the noise for now.

My concern is by letting the problem go, you risk metal particulate accumulation from the parts failing to synchronize. Those particulates are not good for the engines top end.

i hate that grounding sound. it really sounds something is WRONG.
i know there is TSIB but i also don't know if i wanna touch this issue.
i know dealer techs are trained but ya know...
you gotta lift the whole engine..... and i don't know if wanna let them do this.
i'm afraid it's gonna do more harms then goods.
i'm SERIOUSLY thinking about not doing anything and getting rid of this car before warranty expires...

This just started happening to my car too... How many times has that line been posted here? Anyway, my car is about 1000 cars too new to fall in line for the TSIB. I called my service rep. to confirm. He will bring the car in for repair. He also thinks he can still have it repaired under the TSIB. I am very lucky down here in SW Florida I have a great SA and a very good tech. that does all my work.

i hear a clicking noise when in D but not in neutral or parked mode. cant really hear it unless you are at a drive thru and the sound bounces off the wall. not sure if thtas wat u guys are all talking about... but anyone in CA bay area who knows this issue and wanna check it out for me let me know.
