i guess i am on the list too,

but i've got the 3.0L Engine .. and i've heard it once untill now and i don't think that it's the same noise in that video ,,maybe cause i was inside the car and in a closed garage ,, do you 250 owners have the same noise?

keep us updated ahohnstein .. was it the one they didn't replace?.

Welll..

My parts came in so I am going to call my dealership and make an appointment. They say they are going to have my car for awhile, so I assume a week. Hopefully not longer. I HOPE I can request a GS350 or ES350 for a loaner. With my long commute I seriously don't need to drive a gas guzzling RX.

I'll let you guys know when they are done and what they replaced.

Not in my case.

Mine is also intermittent, which seems odd. Wouldn't the problem be consistent?

Why wouldn't they replace both to start with?

How did they pin-point the problem to one specific VVTi controller? Was there something different between the two?

It sounds like they didn't pinpoint, just guessed? Looks like they should have replaced both.

Wow. That is good news. When I hear from my service rep I'm going to ask him if they replaced both or just one.

Keep us posted, btw, noticed you've got an '07. I'm surprised they wouldn't have caught this issue in the 2nd year of this car? Maybe too cost prohibitive to make the fix across the board, vs. individuals who complain?

Well at least you're getting good use out of her! I've got almost 15k on my '06, just started noticing the noise. When did you notice?

Don't worry, Lexus will work it all out!

So there are two VVTI things. One for intake and one for exhaust. I just confirmed with my service advisor that they are replacing both and I should have the car back hopefully tomorrow.

I wish the dealers around here were as competent as yours
