Default Speakers under warranty?

I just noticed that my right rear speaker seems to have gotten blown out =/
I've only had the car for 2 months... is this something that is replaceable under warranty?

Yes.

The repair should be covered under your warranty...

Not so quick, Tammy. If the speaker was blown as the result of abuse (i.e. over-driving the amp), then they are not obligated to replace the speaker. They might do it to be nice, but I wouldn't necessarily assume anything.

I haven't had a problem with mine, however my friend has an RX350 and one of her speakers went out and she took it in to Longo Lexus and they replaced and didn't hassle her at all. (She blew them by cranking it wayyy too loud and too often!) Her car is 3 months old. I guess it would depend on the dealer you take it to more than anything.

yeah, my rear speakers seem to be blown... brought it in and they're ordering new ones. it's been 6 months for me. when i drive alone, which is most of the time, my music is blaring at 30-40. but i should mention that i have a good rapport with my service guy, the parts manager, and my personal mechanic at the dealer.

when i went, they said they could hear it was distorted in the back with excessive rattling so they ordered replacements and replaced speakers in the rear. nothing's changed and my service rep. said that they'll look at it again next time. might as well try...
