No Official word yet...
There has been some leaks regarding information to be released sometime early next year, but nothing official.
As for the coupe, it will keep the same chassis, but the body should be significantly different and distinctive. I doubt Lexus will just make the current IS the same with only two doors. Think G35 sedan and coupe, or 3-Series sedan or coupe.
Personally, my dream coupe IS will be a hatchback style coupe to give it a sleek elongated roofline, with 2+2 seating. But then again, I'm dreaming of another coupe...

Chasis??? I'd be extremely surprised if Toyota/Lexus would build an entirely new chasis just for the coupe. Shouldn't be any reason to do that. I wonder if the coupe will end up 2" long than the sedan like the new 335?

Why do you say this?? The 2IS's direct competition is the 3 series which comes in sedan, coupe and convertible. They are all very popular and in demand. I don't see why this wouldn't be the case for Lexus as well.

What!!! There are some of us begging Lexus for a proper sports coupe. The SC line no longer fills the need. Sport coups are the sexiest cars. They say sport without having to add pretencious kits and cladding. They provide the leg and shoulder room us big guys can tolerate. They have long sleek hoods that can house monstrous engines. Actually, I don't know what the heck you're talking about. Lexus needs a proper coupe more than you need to be driving a Lexus.

Ok yes Lexus could use a proper sport coupe but an IS coupe doesnt match the IS personality and doesnt really fit with the Lexus brand image. An SC more along the lines of the original SC would work but an IS coupe no thanks.

My favorite IS commercial shows a guy at a stop sign...then he guns it, peeling out, then grins. A voice over describes the different types of "fast," and then the IS's version of Fast....I'd say a sport coupe would fit the personality of the IS pretty well. The SC line needs to be re-designed, re-drawn, and made to appeal to a different segment.
Thank god MSMlexIS is not part of Lexus's product development team.
