Can we agree that "strip" is the 1/4 or 1/8 mile thing and that "track" is a road course?

The terminology could be a problem as an automatic and a soft suspension would not be good at a "track" but would do quite nicely at the the "strip".

FWIW

I am sure I have tracked way more than you could every imagine. Whether it be quarter mile, circuit, auto-x, and even rally. I've tried it all. I'm not sure if you're actually familiar with real motorsports, but there are a lot of aspects to tracking then shifting the shifter. Have you heard of braking? Cornering? Having a good line? I'm sure you haven't, because your statements are always ignorant with an odour of arrogance that surrounds your comments.

And for your information, you can track any car you want. Not all cars have to fit your criteria to perform well at the track. It's all about the love of driving and wanting to know your car even better at it's limits, in a safe environment.

Even ignoring the obvious mis-statements from others above, it's silly for them to consider 1/4 mile times in the same sentence as tracking a car. It's soooo not the same thing, it's not even funny.

If it was offered with a stick, that's what I'd be driving.

I went to a road course recently (did a little write up) and was quite surpised with the IS. I posted the second fastest laptime after a Supra TT with slicks.

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=243990

I also take my car to the strip on occasion and found that the best results were with the tranny in D, PWR mode.

It's definitely not a manual but it's bearable.

so you pulled 13.36 with jus an intake? how did you launch your launch...

anyhow it's nice to know you took a rx7 , but could it be that you're a good driver and he's not?

Niiiiiiiiiiiiiice.

LMS exhaust and LMS intake? I'm about to do the same mods I think.. along with a digital fuel controller, and possibly a grounding system. Still researching though considering how new everything is.

My IS350 arrives next week and I hope to track it sometime early next year after I have done a few modifications. As far as a stock car goes the IS350 seems to be pretty quick.

Now I know my IS350 will never be able to pull the times my 73 NOS 525hp Torino did in the 1/4 mile but in a track situation I think the IS350 can, and does from what I have seen, very well. Any car that hits 60 in the times that the IS350 does is very quick for a street car.

Oh btw my Torino was an automatic and I would race an automatic at the drag track any day of the week over a stick. My times in my Torino were always better and more consistant than my 79 Mustang with a 4 speed.
