yea bout the learning thing... do you guys think it learn only in the regular mode.. and when you're in the power mode it actually has it's own characteristic.. it jus seems like the learning is in the regular mode..
why learn a snow mode when it's already configured for the snow

i love to see a vid or a slip of a is350 outrunning a srt......these thing run 12.90 @110mph at the end of the 1/4....and a mustang with a vortec....common are u living in dreamland.....maybe its a mustang with a turbonator....dude our 350's are quick but no match for the srt or a blown mustang......i really would love to see 13.1 with a cold air and exhaust more dreaming
You must have missed something. THESE ARE OR WERE ALL MY OWN CARS! Why on earth would I lie about what times I ran my own cars at the track? My Vortech '05 GT put down around 383rwhp (220ish stock), and yes, ran a 13.8 on about a 85 degree day. My SRT8 put down 363rwhp and ran a 14.1, time after time. These are the SAME track, SAME driver (me). So I'd be careful touting how smart you are about all these cars in front of your fellow forum members...

thanks for your report, I did a test on an empty street using the paddle shifter and I notice it actually shift by 6500 in 1st gear. The problem is the rev goes up so quick that you must be quick with your eyes & hand and shift before 6000 in order not to hit the rev limiter.

Yup, which is exactly why I seldom use the paddle shifters. It's too slow and too much work timing the shifts just right. Wish the paddles worked more like the new VW DSG tranny paddles. They shift lighting fast.

i hope in the future one of the tunning companies comes out with software for the tranmission controller......just like my c5 vette....it shifts so fast after it was tunned...then the paddles would be really fun to use

Yeah I would like to see something like that too. Even if it doesn't cause quicker shifts due to the physics of the tranny, I'd like to see it shift at a higher rpm in each gear. Then again, who knows..maybe that would make the car slower. I think Lexus did a great job. Even the guys running BMW 330's are impressed with the IS350. I had a guy come up to me after I ran last night and was in shock. He said he has a 330 and his friend has an IS350 that doesn't feel all that fast, but sure enough puts the times down. He said it's probably because the car is so smooth and quiet that it doesn't feel as fast as what it really is.

No. Only one company claims they have, but there is no real proof they really did. Had they been successful, they would have the entire Toyota enthusiast community at their doorstep.
The only company outside Toyota with access to the Toyota engine code is Lotus, and they're not talking either.

The encryption hasn't been broken. GM's was cracked years ago. There's a checksum that is tested before the ECM starts. If the calculated value does not match the stored value, the ECM will shut down and light a CEL.
