Default Question for all you track junkies with the IS350

When you put your car in D and run it, what does the car shift at? My car shift at about 6500rpm or maybe a bit earlier than that. If I put it into sport mode and manual shift it myself with the paddle shifter, it'll shift at about 6700rpm or so. The reason I asked because I'm wondering if the shifting point has something to do with your driving style. Late shift point will increase the mph and decrease the ET time.

I always have to chuckle when I hear about someone serious about tracking their car, when their car is a bloated, softly-sprung pig with a SuperSpankinWankerSlushomatic transmission.

Aww..

Well, I think this slushomatic is pretty impressive. Saw one at a local dragway pull a 13.1 with intake and exhaust. :P

Dude, if this car is so terrible then why did you buy one? You are constantly making negative comments and making fun of people like you are back in high school.

lol then why is it automatics run better times and have better et's?

funny, I seem to remember seeing a mazda 3series(stock) pester a viper before on a road track.

but to your question tt06, the transmission ecu may have different logic for each modes.

Let me give you an idea of what cars my IS is quicker than (these are all my previous cars that I've Gtech'd and taken to the 1/4 mile):

2005 Mustang GT w/ Vortec Supercharger
2006 Magnum SRT8
2006 300C SRT8
2000 Camaro SS (when stock)
2005 Pontiac GTO
2001 Ford Lightning (when stock)

Pretty impressive for a bloated luxo-cruiser huh?

I spoke with a guy the other day that has a new GTO and mentioned that he was getting beat by the IS at the track and wondered how much they were. When he heard that I bought mind for invoice ($33,940) he just about choked. He spent the same amount on his slower 400hp GTO!

just ignore the negative comment and let's get back on the topic guys. You think the tranny shift point has anything to do with the driving style?

FF, I'll bet you a buck that you loose to a fellow IS250 equiped with the "Slush-o-matic" tranny in the 1/4. If the IS350 is a "bloated, softly-sprung pig", than what on earth do you consider your 250??

Sorry, had to say something

I don't think the shift point would have anything to do with driving style at WOT off the line. I would hope that it knows what "style" of driving your about to do

I think ff_ just gets off on getting people riled up. He’s probable at home reading these responses and SuperSpankinWankerSlushomaticing himself.

ff_ your anti-Lexus comments on a Lexus forum are getting very tiring. I strongly suggest you keep an open mind here and start contributing positively IMMEDIATELY or you will no longer be welcome here.

I am coordinating a track day, yes, co-hosted by a LEXUS club. I COMMEND ANYONE in ANY CAR who takes it to the track instead of the street. Especially with so many internet thugs and internet know it alls that truly KNOW NOTHING. They don't go to meets, don't post pics, just talk a bunch of smack.

Team, please ignore trolling, do not even waste your posts responding.

I have been to the track in my Lexus multiple times. I remember jeers from a couple people. Now, those jeers have turned into open invitations.

IF you can TAKE IT TO THE TRACK!! Get those TIME SLIPS.
That is the PROPER way to race. Enthusiasts respect those that go to the track!!!

Its the LEXUS MOVEMENT!!!
