Thank you Ken!
OK i got most of it now.
sepukku, From looking on the em01463.pdf file, i think what you did was locate the Television Camera, cut the CV+ and CV-, connected a RCA wire's (+) & (-), activated the reverse signal (which i do not know how), and your car's HU allowed the new RCA wire's video signal onto the screen.
According to your video, you did this to test. Did you integrate anything permanent for this project?
I know with the use of relays, you can use 1 MAIN Switch to control the input between Television Camera and RCA wire Input.
If what I said is correct about the CV+ and CV- wires, how did you activate the Reverse Camera Input? Care to share?

ah ha!
I figured it out.
3 relays and 1 switch can ADD a Video Input with the use of the Reverse Camera Input.
Relay 1: Blue JQ1 Wire (12+ trigger to activate reverse camera Input)
Relay 2: Red CV+ Wire (Positive Video Signal)
Relay 3: White/Black CV- Wire (Negative Video Signal)
The switch will control 3 of these relays.
When the relays are at Rest (NO 12V+), all wires will be connected as OEM.
When the relays are at Charge (12V+ Applied), all wires will be interrupted for external connection.
Relay 1: 12V+ to Activate the Reverse Camera Input
Relay 2: New RCA+ (Positive Video Signal)
Relay 3: New RCA- (Negative Video Signal)
So pretty much at a flip of the switch, you would activate the New RCA wire's input.
I think I might be correct. This is untested.

You are correct mostly..istundra.
one minor correction....the cv- is a shielded ground and is not used for the camera signal wire...as that is the first wire that i cut and tapped into.
the two wires that you will have to cut and splice into are the
cv+ which is pin#27 on J51 for the signal.
cgnd which is pin#14 on the J51 connector.
by the way... i didn't use any relays at all...but you can if you want.
i used two switches.
one spdt switch for the activation of the rear camera
and one dpdt for the rca signal wire.
in the configuration that you have described.

it seems as though with this modd you will always have the check your surroundings message on the bottom of the screen, or does it go away, from what i have seen it stays there.

With one switch, You should be able to control multiple devices and this mod with the use of relays. Switch being as the master and relays being as the sub switch.
I am still waiting for the Nav TV to be installed into my gf's car but this is a nice break through.
