If its not a short trip, i don't wait more than 30 seconds

If its a short distance trip i sometimes wait about a minute or so before driving the car.

When I start the car, the RPM floats around 1.2k, then in about 10-15 seconds it drops to 1k, that's when I go, and take it easy for about 5 minutes.

ermmm... I usually stay until the rev comes down to 1k. Sometimes I even give a lil gas on idle so that the engine warms up a lil more faster. I hope I'm not doing anything wrong. Oh also even wen im back home I park her and give a lil gas and then turn off. :-)

Some say too long more then 5 minute is bad for engine and waste of gas. They say only 1 minute warm is good enough.

If it's around - 10 F (Utah weather). I'll let it warm up till it's blowing warm air out the vents (usually around 5-7 min). Or just let it run while I'm removing snow and scraping ice from the car. Plus my LS owner's manual says to let the car run for a minimum of 10 seconds each time you start it, regardless of outside temperature.

My car seem to take longer 5 minute in warm and 10 minute in winter.

Usually just a quick push of the button then wait till rpms drop to about 1k and I'm off to work. FL weather is usually in the 70s or 80's a night so it's plenty warm lol

Our garage is pretty warm I'm the morning. I give it about 30 sec but it's because I am getting my Pandora station set and fixing my seat belt so my work clothes don't get too wrinkled during the commute.

Damn I didnt realize so many members drove their cars while still cold. I always heard it was bad to drive when the car is not at proper operating temperatures so I always play it safe and let the car warm up for till it idles at its usual 600-ish rpm. Worst case scenario , i only wait till it drops to 1000rpm and drive it reeeeeal easy. I make it a point to take proper care of my car, especailly after the horror that was my Beamer

For all my cars garaged here in SoCA (45+degrees min.) Start car & wait for idle speed to drop before shifting to reverse & back outside. Heater off to speed warmup of engine & heater. Slowly back into street & drive off. Accelerate slowly to speed limit & drive 2 miles to freeway keeping rpms below 3000rpm. About 1/3 throttle down the onramp & keep at 3000rpm or less until temp gauge is almost in midrange. Also once started never turn engine off until fully warmed up, I usually push it out of the garage to wash it in driveway.

I live in WI and park in a garage overnight. I usually start it, pull out, let the door close, adjust everything (radio and clothes) and go, no more than a minute maximum. I heard letting them sit and warm up was a waste. Although, when it gets below zero, i will let it heat up a bit, more for me than the IS. Seemed to me more of an old school thought that the oil needs to circulate before driving.
