From what I've heard, those deer whistles don't work particularly well -- if at all.
Be careful, the rut (deer mating season) starts in early November, which increases deer activity and the likelihood that some sex crazed deer chasing (or being chased) is going to run out in front of your car.

You want deer?? Come to the Texas Hill Country west of Austin. It's like a shooting gallery; the damn things are hopping out of every nook and cranny. And once the gun hunting season starts next month they are really active. Only thing worse than coming upon a moving bunch of deer in a car is doing it on a motorcycle.
Deer whistles are a waste of money. They just don't work. Advice, 1) avoid early morning and evening hours, 2) slow down, and 3) slow down. If you hit a deer and it decides to come through your windshield it is bad news.

Last year a deer ran into the road and totaled a Camaro where I work.
And then shortly after mama deer died by ramming the Camaro Bambi came out and smacked itself into a truck.
Very depressing morning. We have deer all over the place at work. LOL signs all over the place telling us to watch for deer.

Last year about this time I had a deer run into my car. Fortunately I saw another deer near the side of the road and slowed way down because she nearly came through the windshield. It did $2500 worth of damage to the front of the car.

So I feel any of ya hit one before. I'm just lucky I was not in my mom's camaro. It could have came in the windshield then.

In my incident a few years back, I didn't hit the deer, the deer hit me. It was during mating season, and the sex crazed loonie ran out of the woods and right into the driver's door of my car. The only nice thing about a deer collision is that it is charged against the comprehensive part of the insurance policy, rather than collision. That meant a lower deductible, and no increase in premium.
