do get why a 17inch gs wont work and a 17inch factory IS350 wheel will

as long as the P.C.D is the same should be ok... and since they are both big cc car the brake should be the same size so should not be a problem at all...

It's not all about size. you need to make sure the GS wheels have a suffcient offset to clear the calipers in the front.

I think most of the Lexus 17inch wheels share the same offset...
