This was fully loaded with every option available except a 6 disc changer because I don't listen to music that often. But that makes it come in slightly less than the the new IS. Does anyone disagree that you get a little better deal with the BMW, especially with its mod potential and lease factor?

I priced a 335i sedan with Sport pkg, Automatic, Nav and premium package and it came out to about ~$48,000. A IS350 with Sport pkg and ML is about $44000. So the IS is $4000 less, has a DVD changer, backup camera and push start which the BMW don't (push start w/o sticking in the key is extra on the BMW for $500) but 335i has the upper hand on handling and the ability of turbos.

I drove a 335i last Friday and it was a solid piece of engineering. But I was surprised at the general lack of 'fit and finish' compared to the IS350. Pop the hood on the BMW and you get a look at lots of nuts and bolts, hoses and fitting, and not so tidy welds, which are cleanly covered on the Lexus. And the trunk lid on the BMW shows off the hinge mechanism when opened compared to a fully covered unit on the Lexus. And the leather on the BMW looked rough and wrinkly compared to Lexus. These are probably nit picky observations but I think it shows the difference between the two makes. One is more preformance oriented and the other leans more towards luxury. Take your pick.

I don't know if this has changed from a year ago, but BMW also charges extra if you get a metallic paint color.
I spent a little more than $39K for my IS, but a comparably equipped 330i last December was coming out to about $43-44K.

It's purely a matter of preference. I wouldn't say the two cars are far enough apart in price for that to be the deciding factor. I don't care for BMWs, but many people do. The same goes for Lexus.

Yep, $475 for metallic paint on the 335. When you add the paint add-on, plus the $500 extra for truly keyess ignition, no CD changer standard, and other items, you start to see a comparably equipped BMW will be pretty pricey to get it up to the standards of Lexus in equipment.

I know no one here will agree. but I'm saying it anyways.
It really isnt that bad. One just needs to use it more than the 5 mins trial to understand. I acutally prefer it over the touch screen. things are placed very logically. Plus theres no restrictrions. You can use every single function when the car is moving. Non of this ridiculous Nav hack or lock down when the car is moving.
