Default Does your sunroof leak?

While running my car through a brushless car wash, I noticed some water droplets comming in. Although the water was caught by the small plastic shield under the sunroof, it still concerns me a little.

On my 2006 IS 250 and at least one other member of this board, there was a manufacturing defect in our moonroofs that caused them to leak and have excessive wind noise.

My dealer first thought that it was the seals and replaced them but the made the problem much worse. After talking to the other member here who's moonroof glass was warped, I had my dealer check that out. They discovered that my glass was warped too.

Long story short, after replacing the glass the car is great! No more leaks and no more wind noise.

You can do a search for moonroof and/or wind noise and find my original thread from last month.

GOOD LUCK!

How did they determine your glass was warped, simply by measuring, or by replacing and finding a lack of wind noise? Was there a bulletin recall for this?
