Do we have a discount code there? Or need to mention CL?

What discussion? What have you brought to this "discussion"? WHere are your points? Tell me where you have justified Lexus's cost? Have you brought anything to this discussion other than an uncalled for level of rudeness and arrogance?

Show me where you have provided any information as to why it cost Toyota so much to provide map updates, when other companies can provide it for free to their customers.

My point is quite simply, other companies charge $0 or a comparatively small fee for their map updates. Why does lexus charge $425?

You can defend lexus charging $425 for information that many companies give away to their customers... And you cant see how paying more "Should" entitle you to a greater level of sevice. People who pay for a premium brand, usually expect premium service.... maybe I am the only one who feels that way.

I agree ^^^^

I paid a premium for this car.... updates should be free. At least for a few years.
Especially when they are cheating Canadian customers with there crappy map data. 5 out of 6 times I have needed the nav, the address were not in there because of poor coverage in Calgary area.

Isn't the nav update disc $250???

I thought the $425 price originally mentioned is CANADIAN dollars...

DaveGS4 provided accurate pricing a few posts up. For those too lazy to do the math, the Club Lexus discount at Sewell and the $40 credit for returning the old disc pegs the final price at $185.

On my S4 (a more expensive vehicle than my IS), Audi sent me one free update. Additional updates were priced similarly to what Lexus charges.

Your both are right, you can get the DVD disc for less than $250. But the actual MSRP of these discs are a lot higher. I still think its something that should be provided for free or at cost a minimal cost.

According to my parts sheet. Its $1016.12 Part number 86271-53020. Which sounds like I am looking at the wrong part. But there is an illustration of the nav system, and #3(86271-53020) points directly to a disc.

sorry i'm going to take a pass on this argument. i've been arguing this point in the car forums for over seven years now....it suffices to say if you work it out with your dealership (or Lexus) to get free updates, that's all that matters to you. an [updated] nav disc is not essential to a satisfying car experience but if you just have to have it, there are way to get it for free to nearly free. the acura owners feel their car is premuim and upscale and deserve it free too...everyone who pays any amount of hard-earned money would feel the same. but i can't argue wholesale costs, margins, r&d costs, recoup strategy, entitlements, and the [incomparable] competition's strategy without the facts...and tqlla3k i guess you have that information so lay it out here for the rest of everyone else to see it for themselves. peace out.

Yes we have a discount code. You can find it under the main menu (gray bar at the top) under sponsors, then resellers

Also a reminder that you can get OEM Lexus nav updates from our CL vendors far cheaper than you can usually from local dealerships.

For example, from Sewell Lexus (Lexus-Parts) it's $250 (not sure this is OEM you have or the new update but the price is typical), see also there is a $40 promotion link with return of your old DVD. CL members also get 10% off their listed price.
