I've driven the wifes IS several times and I can see how this car is more prone to being curbed. It can be hard to judge where that right side is when parallel parking. Further, my wife jumped a curb trying to avoid pedestrians just last night and did minor damage to the underpanel on the car. She's had the car all of one week with 230 miles on the vehicle.
I'm sure these problems are a function of the cars design. You sit low inside the vehicle and farther inboard than with most other cars.

Maybe it's just a function of getting used to driving the car, because I haven't experienced those issues. Parallel parking is easy with the auto tilt mirrors and the back up camera...those items help make it blindingly obvious if you're close to hitting a curb.
