I seriously doubt that the IS is going to out-handle the RS-X. Even with all-season tires and FWD on the RS-X, it weighs a lot less (like 700+ pounds less), and has a much better tuned and communicative suspension. I'd put all my clams on the RS-X, all other factors being equal.

is250 is all looks and no go, thats why i got the 350. the only thing i can see the is250 having an advantage in is the top end. there is no replacement for displacement.

I highly doubt there are a lot of people in this forum, or any other forum who really race "in the twisty." We all know everyone relies on straight line speed as a benchmark of fast. <---for the majority of most comparisons, this does not include people who actually track their vehicles. If you watch most US race videos, it's always on a highway w/ some crappy camera work capturing how much faster/slower a vehicle is in a straight line(insert old trance/techno here) and a voice in the background saying "man i totally owned that guy." You rarely ever see touge videos like in japan, or ***** out top speed runs through city streets in europe. After visiting japan for a whole summer you really get an idea of the many dimensions of what fast is.

When I had my Type-S I tracked it a few times at Summit Point raceway. It was an AMAZING track car!! My suspension was slightly moded and I had an intake and exhaust and in the turn 4 and 5 I would blow by C5 Vettes, Old 944's and 928 and even a few E36 M3's. Trust me an IS250 is no match for a Type-S. This dude will get "OWNED" at Salem!! I would even say the Type-S outhandles my IS350.

i drove the 350 and i wasn't blown away by it which is why I changed my mind when considering trading my car in (plus its a financialy stupid idea). But at the same time the tranmissions didn't goto the lowest gear possible when i punched it..so i dunno.

as stupid as it might sound. .i know the 250 can beat the 98-02 accord v6's. I was going home one day and i had 4 people in the car (total 5 along w/ a/c on if that even matters) and this av6 coupe w/ driver only wanted to run me so wutever.. we were even the whole way but i was slowly pulling away.. until my light came up so i had to stop

i dunno.. "fast" is very subjective so .. i came from an i4 accord so haha it doesn't take much for me to have a fast car

i used to drive a i4 accord also...

anyhow when you drove the is350 did you drive it in power mode? cause the driving characteristic is totally different.. yea final power is the same but throttle response is totally different...

i still have to drive a is250 stick... i was going to buy one but they were out of the is250 stick so i just bought a 350 instead...

anyhow what year accord did you have?

I don't know why folks on this forum continue to say the 250 is slow. It is not the 350 by any means but....it certainly isn't slow. I've raced 300c's and Mustang GT's and while those guys have been ahead of me, they haven't been ahead by more than .5-1 car length.....which is pretty good considering the horsepower difference (also, these were long straight aways where we were able to get to speeds of about 120 mph) I know weight and the driver amongst other things factor into that but....I'm just giving my personal experience. The 250 is not slow.....it's just not as fast as the 350.

I think the majority who post on this form are into racing and speeding. I have a 250 and have no problem going 100 -110 mph.....don't want to go any faster than that.

yea.. sorry.. it's by no means is the is250 slow... it's just slower in comparison to a 350 (which is a comparison i made in the post before)... does anyone have a quarter mile time on the is250 .. manual and auto ?

Is250 vs Is300 ... has anyone done a comparison ... they should be pretty much the same

The Civic hatchback I owned 15 years ago, with 91 HP, could go 100-110 MPH. That car wasn't fast either. With the right gearing and aerodynamics, any car can achieve a decent top speed.

When discussing how fast a car is, it's not so much about top speed, as it is about acceleration.

I still have my old rsx type s and i would have to say that the stock weight of the rsx type is is about 2800 lbs. Also, it has 200hp in the years 2001-2004 but now it has 210hp from 2005 to current. And if you include the Type R version, it is 240hp and it weight is 2400 lbs. As for the handling, i know the RSX can out handle and it is fasther because of the weight and power alone. As for the IS250, its more of a luxury car than the RSX. If you have a IS350, then you are much faster than the RSX unless they did something to the RSX like turbo or supercharger.

When my cousion has his BMW 325i 2004, we raced lots of times and i always beat him until he traded it in for a 2006 M3.

Oh yeah, if they have the base model RSX (Not the type S model) then i'm sure the IS250 can beat it.
