Default Performance Upgrades

Got my 2007 IS300 yesterday (i live in the middle east & this is the only IS engine available here at the moment). Love it.

I am looking for performance upgrades that apply to both IS250 & IS350 i.e. the part number should be the same for IS250 and IS350. Using this logic, I can reasonably take a risk that it will also fit the IS300. (I have no other option as the IS300 is only being sold in the ME at the moment and therefore no one will probably make any performance parts specifically for IS300 any time soon.

I came across this performance exhaust on the lexus parts web site but it doesnt mention the hp gains for either IS250 or IS350. The part number, however, is the same for both IS250 and IS350. Any idea how much hp gain can be expected on IS250 & IS350 with this mod?

http://www.lexus-parts.com/partdetai...CategoryID=114

Also, any other mods recommended? I would prefer to stick with Lexus / TRD oem-type mods.

Thanks

So to confirm - the engine in your IS is the same as that from the 2006 GS300 (the v6, not the Inline 6 from 2005) and the body is the same as the 2006 IS250/250?

Post some pics!

I think lexus-parts claims about a 10 rwhp gain for the IS350 with that exhaust, which is the most I've heard of for any street-legal exhaust system. That's actually the exhaust I'm thinking of buying within the next couple months.

Here's their dyno results:

As I know the IS300 engine should be the same as the GS300 engine...

The engine is 3GR. Not sure if thats the same as GS (past or present) or ES (past). Anyone?

Will try to take some pics & post soon.

hmmm....thats 10hp will not show any improvement in acceleration numbers. I was hoping to trim 1 second off the 0-60 by adding 2 or 3 mods. Any other suggestions besides the cat back?

I hate to say this, but unless your two or three mods include turbo, supercharger or nitrous - all of which are still relatively new to these engines (both 300 or 350) you aren't going to achieve that goal. One second decrease 0-60 is a huge goal and IMO unrealistic unless you're going to spend some serious cash. Since you're not where there is a lot of Lexus tuning going on, you are also at a significant disadvantage finding someone knowledgeable to do the work as well.
