The IS is a great car. I find it hard to criticize anything about it. I'm sure the G 35 is a good car as well. But I doubt the quality of it will be anywhere near Lexus quality. Also I think the IS's interior is far superior to anything else in its class. You shouldn't have any doubts about your decision. I haven't had any regrets at all.

I think "fun factor" is very subjective. Some may find driving around in a Honda Fit to be fun, while others can't stomach anything with less than 500hp. It's really what suit the individual the best; whether that is the IS250 or G35 is all up to the purchaser.

Wow, those were some nice picts from the car show!
The ONLY thing that I regret about my IS purchase is that I didn't go ahead and get the Navi with the ML... aside from that it's a fun car to drive and a real head turner.
As others have said too, it's nice to not pass yourself every 5 seconds. Here in Houston I'm starting to see more IS 250/350s on the road (a good thing) but nothing like the BMW 3 series or the Mercedes C class... they're almost as bad as the Camry XLE I used to drive.
Oh and go checkout J.D. Powers and Assoc... look at what they have to say about the IS and Lexus in general. You're purchasing a great car!
Hope that helps!

Go drive a G35 then go sit in the Lexus.
The G35 was the first thing I looked at (although it was an 06 I don't see the 07 having that big of a change in the interior quality).
After I left the Infiniti dealership, I went to Lexus, then to BMW. Two weeks later back to Infiniti, Lexus, BMW in the same day and the next week bought the IS.
There is a reason the IS brought me back. Go sit in an IS again and put those unsettling feelings to rest!
Plus like others have said the IS isn't everywhere like the G35 or BMW 3x.

Damn, the G35 is looking pretty good, but you would not be able to get a great discount on it now since it was just released. Still, this would be a tough call between a 250 and G35. I think I would go with G35. It has more options for cheaper, good performance, and you can get it in AWD. Now I am having buyers remorse

I think its a hard decision.
Because you can get an 2007 G35 with 306hp for the price of the IS250!
I think in the next few months when the new G becomes more available pricing on the IS250 will drop because everyone is gonna buy the new G instead!

It's called cognitive dissonance...everyone feels this way after making a big purchase. Trust me, everyone who majored in marketing and advertising knows this. Everyone here has questioned there purchase making decision at one point or another. You'll get over it once you sit inside the car for the first time, and say "wow, this is mine." Even though I have not sat in the G, I can honestly say by looking at the images it still has remnants of the crappy infiniti interior styling- feel- and overall build quality. You'll be glad you bought a Lexus, and not a Maxima on roids.<---just trying to help him deal with his dissonance issue. This is why people take their time in making purchasing decisions.

And where do you think Infiniti cut the price...the interior, the ambience, the overall build quality of the interior...most likely the interior is going to feel cheap and plasticky. (this is just an assumption) Sure the outside looks decent. But the inside still looks like an 05 g35. and lets face it imitation is a form of flattery. everything inside the G was a straight bite-off of the Lexus. push button start, f1 paddles, 306hp, all in a v6 sport sedan package. And whats with infiniti and the clocks? But then again the 250 doesnt have 306 hp

that sucks how much was the deposit if i may ask ??? not for nothing if it was like $500 id rather feel remorse for $500 than a $40000 purchase on the wrong car. only you can decide whats best for you and if you're somewhat doubting yourself now then its probably best to go for the G. its a much improved car inside and out and like what others have said here it has 306hps up and down its line from standard G to the X awd version. it also has a manual with that 306hps hhmmmmmmm good luck in your decison

Eh, I'd never buy a Nissan... The quality goes like this:
1) Toyota
2) Honda
3) Nissan
If you buy a Nissan, you get getting the bottom of the Japanese trio totem pole... Yes, you'll get bang for the buck, but I'd assume if you were buying a Lexus to begin with, then you were not looking for bang for the buck... If you are, then you definitely don't want a Lexus, you're paying a premium for the name and the quality...
