haha I did what you said homer and there are 14 dealerships in the state...9 of which I could go to without much of a problem.
When I send them the email do I need to specifiy color? I'm still up in the air about the color because I have Gunmetal wheels and don't know which color to pair them up with. I like the Black Sapphire but don't know if it would flow well. Any suggestions? haha

I gave them the color when I did it, but no, it's not necessary yet. You're just looking at prices and discounts. You can firm up the color choice when you're ready to work with one dealership.

well as of right now I only got 3 price quotes back out of 10. The cheapest is a decent price but i'd love to talk them down a little more. I'll update this thread some more when I get some price quotes back.
Is it ok if I post the price quotes with the dealership name or is that against the forum rules? Didn't want to cross any lines here.

I wouldn't post dealer names with quotes, but you could mention the actual car and the quote (ie IS250 w/Nav - msrp XXXX - quoted XXXX)
The only way I would consider a '06 IS now is if it was still 'new' (less than 25 miles) and if it was offered to you at dealer's invoice, provided that you are fine with the color and equipment on it. I'm sure the Dealer doesn't want a '06 left on the lot when the '07s are already selling - so you should be able to get a great deal . . .

The cheapest price I did get back so far was for the '07 IS350, Black Sapphire on Black with Luxury package, Navigation, and Mark Levinson for $42,697. I believe that was out the door but am not 100 % sure on that.

I tried to make a deal on an 06 at J&M and they would give me 2250 off msrp for the 06 and 2000 off msrp for an O7. They tried to sell me the SAME car as you but it was not what I wanted. I went over to Lexus of Tampa Bay and got 2500 off on an 07 that was exactly the way I wanted it and it was worth the extra money. If you want call the manager "Tina" at Lexus of Tampa Bay and tell her your are in this club forum and hear that one of your memebers got a good deal on an IS350. I am sure they will give you the 2500 off. You may be looking for more off the sticker but with an average sticker reduction of about 1200 from most dealers I was happy to get the car I wanted (right off the dock so to speak...7 miles on her) at a decent price. The Ml audio is very hard to find in Florida by the way.

I guess one concern I would have about buying an 06 at this point is the
fact that production of the 06 model ended in late June so that means
they have been setting idle and exposed to the elements for many months.
If I was buying a brand new car this would bug me.

Not necessarily, depends on the dealership. I can tell you that many of the Lexus dealers in SoCal have either underground or multilevel garages to house their 'new' car inventory - only the used or CPO cars are left outside. My IS never saw the light of day until I test drove it . . .

I have Nav and ML in my IS350, did the hack and I just watched movies all the way to Vegas this weekend. It was a blast and WAY worth it. I have an IS250 as a loaner today, the base model stock system sounds like crap. The ML is seriously SUPERIOR. In my GS4 I had an $8k system that replaced the Nakamichi system. I would never go after market with the Nav & ML combo in my IS350, I'm extremely satisfied with it.
Also, just an FYI, I was able to get my 06 with Nav, ML and Luxury package a couple of weeks ago for a couple hundred below invoice (car had a few hundred miles on it, but was never titled and that didnt bother me). I think if you find the right dealership and talk to their internet department you can get a better deal.

I was in a very similar situation and I went with an 06 with navi plus all the other options you mentioned minus the headlamp washers. Also, not sure what SMG is but mine is silver with silver and black interior. I drove out for about 42k then had XM installed for $600. By the way, I bought at Countyline froma guy named Manny who was great.
