Default 10,000 mile service....?

so I called lexus and they told me that it ws going to be $180 for the service.... which is only oil change, air filter, and retorque...

I called toyota and they told me it was going to be between $60 and $80 to do the scheduled service....

You think its ok to go to Toyota? I mean... its not a major service or anything..... thoughts?

Just wear dark sunglasses and a hat so no one recognizes you. Seriously, sounds like a great idea, that's quite a bit cheaper.

You may wish to advise Toyota you use the 04152-YZZA3 filter kit in your IS250 RWD, just to insure they stock the filter number.

I wouldn't go to the Toyota dealer. Besides not having the parts and not having much experience with Lexus cars, if they found something that could be fixed under warranty they couldn't do it there. You would have to go back to a Lexus dealer anyway.

This is VERY simple.

Make an appointment to get JUST an oil change. Buy the air filter yourself and change it!

Its so simple. I dont know why people pay this much just for regular oil changes.

Shoot. Come over my shop and I would be happy to do this for $180. I have a shop in Anahiem, CA. I wont even charge you tax!

The re-torque may be referring to the propeller (drive) shaft.

If you have no vibration, and no one has removed the bolts at the U-joints, they have green Loctite applied and should not be a concern.

The torque values I would be concerned with is the 76 Ft Lbs. at the wheel lugs.

The Denso part number is usually molded onto the engine air filter edge. This makes a Toyota dealer replacement a little less expensive than the Lexus replacement.

Along with the engine air filter, the cabin air filter may also require a quick inspection and vacuuming.

I've never heard of vacuuming the engine filter... It can get pretty nasty, usually best to just replace it since the part is cheap enough...
