Default HID Fogs with stock HID headlights. Which would look best?

Sorry for another thread but I searched, endlessly, and could not come up with a answer. I'm looking for some opinions.

I've got the stock HID head lights. I've pretty well decided to change the fogs to HID. I don't like the yellow look so I'm going white. My choices are 4300K or 6000K. Which do you think would look best?

Thanks

OK.

Your stock is D4S = 4800K

I would go with the 4200K

I am currently using 4200K fogs and it seems to match very very well. It is just slightly brighter but a good match.

Stock Lexus D4S HID bulbs are 4100k, not 4800k. The closest aftermarket match is 4300k. Having said that, it depends what look the OP wants. My preference is towards matching the lights as much as possible. If you install 6000k fogs, then your stock HID's will look yellow in comparison. Here's a shot to illustrate my point:

On the left are the stock Lexus HID's, and on the right are the XenonDepot 6000k's. If you like the contrast of the different colors of light, go for the 6000k's. If you want to match the OEM look for your fogs, then 4300k is the way to go. Hope this helps!

No it wasnt.

I went with the OEM Matsu****a Ballast (same as the JDM HID foglamp option) with Philips 85122 D2S 9006 Rebased bulbs.

Even though Xenon Depot is a vender of this site, I never believed they use genuine philips burners.

Plus... They modify their ballast before it is sold to you.

Ask them a simple question:

Is your Ballast Modified?

If Xenon Depot says NO, then ask them "Why is there a Generic AMP Connection versus OEM P32-D2 Connection?"

Where are you getting this from? I'm getting my info using the Lexus replacement part number, not the phillips website. The Lexus bulbs are not Phillips bulbs, they're Denso. D4S is a size/type of bulb, not color temperature.

There ya go! Cite your sources that D4S is indeed 4100 Kelvin.

Ahh.... slightly brighter because of the Glare.

OK, I double-checked my guide, and the ballast is made by Denso. The bulb is made by Philips, but is still 4100k. I've attached the product data sheet.

I guess I'm leaning towards 4300K. If I can find some pictures of stock HID head lights with each type of HID fog I could make a more informed decision.

Thanks

For those that had this done, did they have to take off the bumper?

Thanks

When I have my HID fogs installed, the bumper didn't need to be taken off. If you're looking into changing your low beams to 6000K in the future, then you should just go with 6000K kit for your fogs. I went with 3500K since I prefer the yellow look.
