Default Smartkey water resistant issue

Dear ALL:

Believeing or not I done it...I forgot to take the smartkey out and put my pants into the washing machine and quess what? Nothing happen and I am here to tell you why?

The Smartkey designed to have some level of water and dust resistant to prevent killing your smartkey from daily use...

Closer look on the buttons side... there is a jelly cover

Closer look on the Leuxs logo side... the main control unit of the smartkey the battery is behind... and those four white dots are the actual buttons

to open the smartkey simply use a cone

nice! Good to know so when I get pushed into the pool by friends I don't have to do the panic and scream "OMG MY KEY!!!".

not ture it is just for daily usage not diving in to a pool!!

As you have suggested, the key assembly is water resistant.

This is not to be confused with water proof.

Consider yourself lucky it survived the wash.

If a button would have be active, the water may have ruined the semiconductors ...

Well, I would have to call it water proof!

Mine has been through the wash TWICE.
(Sometimes the wife tries to be helpful
and does my laundry)
It never stopped working or had to be
taken appart for drying out.

Surprise why the sales person didn't use this to impress you for the very last time before he handed you the keys. Opening it with the penny to change the battery was a very good idea though.
