For a new key I'd expect any dealer to charge 50-60 bucks, that's 1/2 hour labor depending what they get as their hourly rate (generally, 100, 110, or 120 bucks).

for a used one I'd expect 100-120 since a full reset (required for a used key) takes more time.

Hey whitebeast, have you gotten it done there before?

And I'm assuming this is when you bring them your own key. If you purchase the key from the dealer (say for $250 like the OP) would that be included in the price?

My dealer wanted $ 250.00 for the key, and then an additional $ 60.00 to program.

I bought a used fob from ebay for 60 bucks, took it to the dealer along with my key fob for programming and they told me that they couldn't re-program a previously programmed fob. I looked at them like WTF.

I am searching to find out how to program the smart key. Found instructions for a 2004 LS430, but mine is a 2005 LS430. Not sure if it will work. I hate to pay the dealer $60.00 for something that will take less than 5 minute tops!
Hi Is autotransponder legit? Did yours work? I need a new smart key to program since I only have one key. THanks!
