Default 06 IS link w/ Smartphones

I saw some old posts where someone had tried to do a handsfree link up a XV6700(verizon) smartphone with the IS. It sounded like there were some problems but I was wondering if someone had tried recently now that some software updates had come out. I checked out the Lexus site and it doesn't list the XV6700. I still need to go with Verizon(primarily because I am still under contract and I don't live in a large metro area for coverage) but I am willing to look at another smartphone that has wifi. Suggestions that fit those parameters are welcome. Thanks.

I have a Sprint PPC6700 that pairs fine with my '07 IS350. It's not fully compatible, though, I don't get the battery and signal levels on the NAV screen in my car. Also, I can't transfer from the phone's contact list to the car's phone book. Everything else works fine.

Yeah...I saw Lexus listed the PPC6700 but didn't list the XV6700 as a compatible phone and I wondered if this was for a reason. I would think they would be the same but didn't want to make the purchase unless I know someone has already hooked up the Verizon version without any problems. Thanks for the feedback though.

Do you know if the xv is better or worse?

Check out the following software: www.jetwaremobile.com.

I have a PPC6700 which would not display battery and signal strength without this software. With the 1.20 Release Candidate of the latest software on the above site, those items will display!

So I guess I am left asking the same question. Does anyone have any recomendations for a smart phone with WIFI using Verizon as the provider?
