Think twice about getting your secondary set of sensors done by dealer
Crappy weather here in NW Indiana prompted me to take the BBS's off today and put the snows/oe wheels on. Don't need any salt on my 19's
So I had bought new sensors for the oe wheels/snows since I used the originals in my BBS wheels. I made an appointment for next Sat with Lexus to have the new sensors programmed to the car. Well today I put the snows on and went for a drive, anything from 10 mph up to 80 mph and guess what? The car didn't say anything about the new sensors being there. It was like I never changed the wheels at all. I was told if you had a second set of sensors the car would not recognize them until you had Lexus program them to the car. But I drove around stop and go for 15 min and not one error message or warning came up. I'll keep an eye out for a couple days but if nothing happens then I'm canceling my appt with Lexus. Will save $$ and time.

i didn't install the sensors on my winter steel rims and the warning comes up after driving for 25-30km. since i got my old tires+rims+sensors in the garage, the car senses them and basically resets the warning light every time i park in the garage.

yup, the new sensors that have never been near the car till now. just pulled the BBS's and oe sensors off and put on the snows with new sensors and nothing happened. no buzzers, big red triangle... nothing.

Yup, that's exactly what happens to me. I never actually measured how far I could go before the light comes on (might be a little more than 30km), but eventually it will come on. I leave my stock wheels in the garage (I have winters on now), so when I park the car in the garage, the sensors are detected and the computer gets reset so I could travel another 30lm or so before they come back on.

You may not have gotten the warning (yet), but then again the new sensors aren't registered and doing their job. Did you even set the TPMS to be using the 2nd set?

TPWS will set codes and turn light on after 51 minutes of driving. Weird number of 51 but that is what will happen. The same as GS models. Not sure if parking close enough to original sensors in garage will actually reset 51 minute timer or not.
Will investigate tommorrow.
