What other cars did you consider before buying your IS?
I considered 3. G35, TL, and IS. I used to own and Audi and while my friends BMWs are nice and i loved my A4 it had minor yet annoying electrical problems so i really wanted to stick with Japenese.
The TL was had huge value and was originally the car i wanted, but after driving it i didn't feel excited. I have an accord and it reminded me of it in many ways. If I'm spending 30K plus i need to smile when i drive.
The G35 was sexy and a blast to drive, but i wasn't that excited about the interior and it was too 'sports carish' for me.
I drove the IS250 last and loved it. It has less power than the others, but had a very lux feel which is more important to me than horses. So far no regrets...except i wish the console lights weren't that puke green and more closely matched the nice cool white/blue of the gauge cluster.

i was thinking about the 2006 bmw 530 but after i drove, it didn't really excite me. When i walk into the lexus showroom, Is350 standout the most so got it on the spot and never loook back.

Tons of different cars:
C6 Corvette
Charger SRT8
BMW 330i
BMW 545i
996 991 C4S
as you can see by my list price wasn't really one of my determining factors. I was mainly looking for a car that I would be happy with for 3-4 years.

I considered several:
2006 Pontiac GTO
2006 Infiniti G35 Coupe
2006 Infiniti M45 Sport
2006 Lexus IS350
The G35 was the first one I ruled out. Just wasn't luxurous enough for me, especially since for just a couple grand more I could have the IS. The M45 was the next one I ruled out. I loved the car, but just didn't feel like ponying up 60k+ for a car at the time. The GTO, while actually the one I liked least out of the 4, ironicly enough made it to the finals. This was back when GM had their employee pricing going on, and they were practically giving the GTO's away. At nearly 20k cheeper than what I got my IS for, it was a very hard deal to pass up. In the end though, the car just didn't have any features. If they had an option for nav, there is a good chance I would be riding in a GTO today, if for no other reason, then it was a great bargain.

335i, 2005 M3, 2006 C350, Subaru STi, Mitsu Evo, G35 coupe...I chose the IS350 Because it gave me a blend of sport, luxury and prestige....and class leading power.

I took a look at everything from very sporty (Mercedes, BMW, Inifinty) to more luxury (Jag, Lexus ES & GS, Volvo).
For my taste, the IS 250 had just the right blend of sporty with a great luxury interior. I think it gave me the most bang for the buck!

Had TL so didn't want that again for many reasons. Seriously considered the 335i coupe/sedan and the Infiniti. Didn't really consider a C class because of the old design. The BMW drove great but hated the exterior on the sedan (love the coupe exterior) but hated the interiors on the 3 series even with the wood. They just didn't feel that luxurious. I was a bit leery of Infiniti quality and wasn't that impressed with the G that was available at that time. I haven't driven the 2007 G but still don't love the interior. Overall felt that the IS 350 had the best balance of features that I wanted/needed and amazing power. It is still the best for my needs/likes.

1. E90 328xi - great car but engine <<<< IS350
2. E90 335xi - $$$$$$$$$$$, an equivalent setup would have been $10K more expensive
2. A4 quattro - NAV -sucks, otherwise very nice
3. G35x - no paddles on x model, kind of a disconnected drive
4. Subaru Legacy GT - great car, no audio control on steering wheel, my wife hated the scoop on the hood
5. Nissan Maxima SE - nice car, but FWD set up, ugly styling
6. Saab 9.3 Aero - so/so quality, felt a bit cheap, hated the steering wheel
Very, very happy with IS350.

The only cars that made it to the "finals" were the G35, IS350 and the 330i. I wanted speed with some luxury and the wife wanted luxury. The G35 was "cheap" feeling and I hated the puncy brakes and pickup. The 330i was just too dull on the inside and I hated the i-drive system. The IS350 had it all...looks, speed, luxury and better quality (imo) than any other car.
