I am thinking about purchasing a IS350 soon but the only thing that bothers me is the SMALL REAR SEAT, there is like no room back there. I don't get how the car can be larger then a BMW 3's but yet have less rear room space. The previous generation IS was the same.... so how do you guys get around the rear back seat issue?

Riding with wify and me.. no kids.. and the dog can have both rear seats!
Yeah, the rear space is limited and I do not suggest peep to plan IS as a family car. The car is more likely for a solo driver vehicle... at least to me and wify.

No wife, no kids, no problems... ![Big Grin](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Seriously, if you need the rear seats for adults or teenagers, then the IS may not be the most functional car for you. There is a lot of competition that may provide the extra room, but you'll have to find that certain compromise that you'll be happy with.

Not a problem for me. I don't cart people around in the back seat. There are other vehicles for that. If you really need the back seat you may have to rethink getting an IS.
I think the media has made a big deal out of this as it gives them an item they can downgrade the IS for, especially when compared to the 'can do no wrong' BMW 3 series.

I have a wife and 2 4yr old boys, and we all fit fine in the IS - mind you my boys are still in convertible child seats, once we transition them to boosters, there'll be even more room for them in the back. The IS is my daily driver, we have a SUV for my wife as her grocery getter . . .

Honestly, I have two friends with ISs, I have no problem with the back seats on 1+ hour car trips...and I'm 5'11", sitting behind someone just as tall or taller than me. I think the rear room is more than in the '02 3-series sedan I used to go around in.

Back seat is fine for me, I've ridden in the back a few times when my bf has a friend in the front..but I don't like riding in the back of my own car....irritates the crap outta me!

I knew what I was buying before I wrote the check. If it does not meet your needs, simply don't buy. Seems very simple to me.
