Default IS350 invoice price: Am I missing something?

I am interested in the following car:

Year: 2007
Model: IS350
Exterior: Glacier Frost Mica
Interior: Black
Options: FT, HL, PT, Z1, LR
Invoice: 34682
MSRP: 39702
Dealership Price: 35500

I calculated the invoice by using Kelley Blue Book, Edmunds, and CarsDirect. All three showed that the car's invoice price is 34682. The above price includes the car, destination fee, and all packages/accessories.

My offer to the sales person was 35200. He said that my invoice calculation was incorrect and that the dealership paid 35127. He told me this AFTER I showed him the Kelley Blue Book, Edmunds, and CarsDirect prices. His offer to me stands at 35500 right now.

My question is: Am I leaving something out in the calculation of the invoice price (e.g. are there some additional fees that are NOT found on KBB, Edmunds, or similar?) Any help would be appreciated.

Don't know if you left anything out, but does it really matter? You are within $445 of each other on the calculation (a mere 1.3% difference). The price guides are made up months in advance which is why all three are the same. It is quite probable that Lexus tweaked a few prices here and there. Big deal. If he offers you a price $300 over your first price you are still a winner. Take it and don't worry about the details. Or you'll go nuts trying to finesse the last few dollars out of the deal. It just isn't worth it for a $35,000+ purchase.

I agree. Why waste your time, you'll never be happy. Don't be so concerned w/them making some money. Why do you go to work?? If that's the case, you're getting 4200 off MSRP! That's a FANTASTIC DEAL! Geez, why would you walk out for $300.00???

I can't believe how good of a deal you got. I also can't believe you're trying to get an insignificant $300 more. I would really be surprised if that deal is still available. Are they pulling your leg? Better catch this one if you can!!!

Are you missing something? Hopefully not a great deal and the KEYS to your car!

Yes lexuspdx, the deal is still available as of today. The sales person was not pulling my leg; he printed me his quote and said I could have the car that day (it was Tuesday), but I told him I want to think about it. He said that was fine and that he had only three IS350s, so it would be good to come to a decision as soon as possible.

I hope I am not missing something. He said the car has < 50 miles on it. Maybe he is discounting it because of the mileage (but < 50 miles should be ok, right?)

hell of a deal already, you're lucky enough to get a couple thousand off a IS, and I thought 3500 off mine was good

Where is this dealership again? Sad thing is that I might have to go to Socal to get the deal I want and I live in Texas.

the difference is probably advertising fees that the dealer pays to the factory
